Girl Demands Single Dad with Crying Baby Be Kicked Out of Café, Only to Run Into Him Again at a Job Interview—Karma Strikes

It was a lively Monday evening when Libby stepped into the café, ordered her usual coffee, and found a seat with a view of the bustling streets of New York City.

After a long day filled with meetings and looming project deadlines, she was looking forward to a brief respite before heading home to her yoga practice and more work that would stretch into the night.

Setting her iPad down, Libby took a sip of her hot coffee and surveyed the room. Her gaze fell upon a baby at the table beside her, its face smeared with apple puree.

Libby couldn’t help but grimace. She had never been fond of babies—she despised their constant need for attention and their unpredictable moods.

But what bothered her even more was how this particular baby, whom she deemed filthy, seemed to be oddly fixated on her. As she turned away, the baby began to cry, its tears streaming down its face in a torrent.

A few moments later, Libby looked back toward the table and saw the baby’s father still on the phone, completely unfazed by his child’s distress. This only added to her irritation.

«Excuse me, sir!» she called out from her table. «Could you please calm your baby down? It’s like he thinks this is his last day on Earth!»

The man glanced back and apologized before continuing his conversation, rocking the baby in his arms. But the crying only intensified, and Libby’s frustration reached a boiling point. She waved over the waitress.

«Could you please move them to another table where I won’t have to listen to that incessant crying? Or better yet, just ask them to leave! I can’t stand it anymore!»

The waitress approached the table and spoke to the father, while Libby watched as he reluctantly ended his call.

“Well, if she’s bothered, maybe she should be the one to move,” Libby overheard the father mutter. “It’s not even my fault, but I’ll apologize anyway.”

Feeling a surge of anger, Libby stood up and approached the table. «You need to leave,» she told him, but before the situation could escalate further, the baby threw apple puree all over her clothes, adding fuel to the fire.

That was the last time Libby ever set foot in that café, and she hoped to never encounter that man or his child again. A year later, Libby met a charming man at work.

He was instantly smitten with her, and she soon found herself falling for him too. Not long after, Libby discovered she was pregnant with his child.

As her baby bump began to show, Libby broke the news to her parents, but their reaction was less than supportive.

Libby was stunned. Her parents, who had always been strict, disapproved of her decision to marry Trevor. In the end, both she and Trevor were kicked out of the family business—her father’s company—and Libby was removed from the will.

Determined to start a new chapter with Trevor, they worked hard to provide for their growing family. Trevor juggled two jobs, while Libby also started searching for work.

One day, Libby was called in for an interview at a publishing company. Unfortunately, she had to bring baby Eve along.

As she was about to enter the interview room, a woman outside informed her that babies weren’t allowed. «I’m sorry,» Libby explained, «but if I leave her alone, she’ll only cause a disruption. Please understand.»

Reluctantly, the woman allowed Libby to enter, unaware of the surprising turn of events awaiting her.

As Libby walked into the room, she was taken aback to find the interviewer was none other than the same man she had rudely encountered months earlier.

To her dismay, Eve began to cry uncontrollably.

Libby felt her face flush with embarrassment. «Could I hold her for a moment?» she asked. «I think I can calm her down.»

«I love babies,» the man replied with a smile. «I’m Jonathan, by the way. Besides being the director here, I’m a single dad to a little boy.»

Jonathan went on to interview Libby and, despite the earlier incident, offered her the job on the spot.

He even told her she could bring Eve to work with her as long as it didn’t interfere with her duties.

Libby was beyond thankful to Jonathan. Not only had she secured a job that day, but she also learned a valuable lesson about life.

Jonathan reminded her that, above all, being human was what truly mattered.
